Ugh - if you hadn't shown that pic I might have been tempted to try them next time we happen to be in Djenne. As it is, don't even THINK about it!
Here we have been eating a very English meal at a very English house - the country retreat for writers and artists attended by our Edward M. Tomato juice out of a tin is served for starters, then yer leathery roast, etc. The plus is that you get to talk to my hero philosopher Brian Magee.
After which we went to Charleston and dropped in on Olivier Bell - she is one hundred per cent after the false alarm of the brain tumour (it turned out to be a stroke, from which she has fully recovered her power of speech).
