Very funny. The notion is that of the travelling gnome who drops his distraught owner a postcard from time to time, n'est-ce-pas? I think mine has long gone (he was in the window-box, which I put down in the back yard to be watered - the box, not the gnome - while we were away.
Yet never even a pic of the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids or even the Pays Dogon have I had from him. I fear he may have been snatched by magpies.
