Good to know. I read that the French are indeed aiming to rid all the northern cities and towns of the Islamist factions, so Timbuktu should be liberated soon. Let's hope nothing else gets destroyed, even if it is no Djenne architecturally.
Tough times for so many people. It won't be an easy road but hopefully the Islamist fundamentalists will be moved out soon without too much bloodshed.
Pleased to have your blog with a little realism and 'on the ground' information to counter the often over optimistic BBC and Aljazeera.
Hope that you will be able to return soon as planned.
