Well, I suppose Dolly had become a truculent old thing, complaining to me about my singing to pigs. But I would still like to know about his well-being somewhere in the depths of the Sahel. Are you in communication?
Dearest, Dolly is no longer with us and I do not know his whereabouts. I am sorry to tell you that he was sold last winter, together with Max, to lighten the burden of feeding my menagerie, since there is hardly any money coming in. We only kept the female donkey(which still has no name. Sorry...
I knew you'd sold him. Cruel woman not to know or care to what kind of master/mistress. I hope he is helping some Malian woman with her load.
Oh, and call that female donkey Dollie with an ie (see Tracey and Heburn in Adam's Rib) at once.
Dollie!!!!!!
