Aissata’s wall

Aissata Nientau is a Bambara Numu:  from the blacksmith’s branch of the Bambara tribe. Diabolo is a predominantly Bambara village. Her house is decorated by the Chiawara, the Bambara symbol  which she has painted on the wall, above which is a collection of pictures from about 20 years ago she says, when she used to be commissioned by people to make bogolan.
