Next come the young boys from the Karate club who performed a
Kata, and last but not least there are of course the lengthy speeches of the
authorities... I put an appearance in, since I had been invited and it would
look bad not to go along, but otherwise we are rather snowed under at the
studio...

Not sure you've shared your thoughts and images on Independence Day in Djenne before, so this is a treat. Fulani beauties indeed.
I think I have become just a little blasé..of course this sort of thing is incredibly exciting. I just need to be reminded, so thank you David! The day continued with further celebrations by the river with pirogue races, but by then I was painting away in my studio.
