St Lucia and Santa
Fabulous party at Eva's place last night- that is to say the Swedish ambassador to Mali, who has kindly invited me to stay. About a hundred and thirty people drank 'glogg' and ate 'lussekatter' and had lots of fun. Swedish UN soldiers in some numbers as well as anyone else Swedish were there of course and the entire Bamako diplomatic corps.
And this morning Dembele and I met at the SANTA Christmas bazaar where MaliMali has sold its wares for three years now. It was quite successful and we managed to sell; but very tiring as you can see from poor Dembele's expression above...

Tell us about the top pic - did you have Santa Lucia choristers in Bamako? A well-deserved spot of luxury and comfort for you, anyway.
Noone who sang in the choir spoke Swedish so did not understand a word of the Lucia song- they nevertheless did a good job!Lucia herself was a Malian Albino girl.
